Murter is a small North Dalmatian island with a surface area of 17.58 km2.
It is located between the towns of Sibenik (35 km to the south) and Zadar (70 km to the north), which are both worth visiting.
There are four villages on the island: Betina, Tisno, Jezera and Murter, which is the largest and oldest place on the island.
The island is connected to the mainland by a short bridge in Tisno.
There are three marinas on Murter island (Betina, Murter and Jezera). The number of marinas in this small area makes it clear how attractive nautical tourism is among the many local islands. Notably the Kornati Islands, which are also a National Park.
Next to Kornati is Nature park Telašćica on the beautiful island of Dugi otok.
Also you can go to Šibenik, enter the Šibenik Channel next to the unique fortress of Sv. Nicholas and continue up the Krka River to Skradin. From here you can visit the magnificent waterfalls of the Krka River – National Park.
The central position of the island of Murter also allows you to sail north and south to further destinations.
